Many of these should be cleaned up with proper qdev-/QOM-ification. Right now there are many catch-all headers in include/hw/ARCH depending on cpu.h, and this makes it necessary to compile these files per-target. However, fixing this does not belong in these patches. Done with this script: cd hw for i in `find . -name '*.h' | sed 's/^..//'`; do echo '\,^#.*include.*["<]'$i'[">], s,'$i',hw/&,' done | sed -i -f - `find . -type f` This is so that paths remain valid as files are moved. Instead, files in hw/dataplane are referenced with the relative path. We know they are not going to move to include/, and they are the only include files that are in subdirectories _and_ move. target_phys_addr_t is unwieldly, violates the C standard (_t suffixes are reserved) and its purpose doesn't match the name (most target_phys_addr_t addresses are not target specific). Replace it with a finger-friendly, standards conformant hwaddr. Outstanding patchsets can be fixed up with the command git rebase -i --exec 'find -name "*.[ch]" | xargs s/target_phys_addr_t/hwaddr/g' origin Signed-off-by: NAvi Kivity <avi@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: NAnthony Liguori <aliguori@us.ibm.com>

This was done in a mostly automated fashion. I did it in three steps and then rebased it into a single step which avoids repeatedly touching every file in the tree. The first step was a sed-based addition of the parent type to the subclass registration functions. The second step was another sed-based removal of subclass registration functions while also adding virtual functions from the base class into a class_init function as appropriate. Finally, a python script was used to convert the DeviceInfo structures and qdev_register_subclass functions to TypeInfo structures, class_init functions, and type_register_static calls. We are almost fully converted to QOM after this commit. Signed-off-by: NAnthony Liguori <aliguori@us.ibm.com>

This only requires changes in two places: in SCSIBus, we need to look for a free LUN if somebody creates a device with a pre-existing scsi-id but the default LUN (-1, meaning "search for a free spot"); in vSCSI, we need to actually parse the LUN according to the SCSI spec. For vSCSI, max_target/max_lun are set according to the logical unit addressing format in SAM. Signed-off-by: NPaolo Bonzini <pbonzini@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: NKevin Wolf <kwolf@redhat.com>

Change the devs array into a linked list, and add a scsi_device_find function to navigate the children list instead. This lets the SCSI bus use more complex addressing, and HBAs can talk to the correct device when there are multiple LUNs per target. scsi_device_find may return another LUN on the same target if none is found that matches exactly. Right now the CDB is not passed to the SCSIBus until scsi_req_enqueue. Passing it to scsi_req_new will let scsi_req_new dispatch common requests through different reqops. Moving the memcpy to scsi_req_new is a hack that will go away as soon as scsi_req_new will also take care of the parsing. 'tag' is just an abstraction to identify the command from the driver. So we should make that explicit by replacing 'tag' with a driver-defined pointer 'hba_private'. This saves the lookup for driver handling several commands in parallel. 'tag' is still being kept for tracing purposes. This bug was introduced in 94d3f98a: scsi_cancel_io was checking if some request was pending before trying to cancel it, while scsi_req_cancel always cancels the request. This may lead to a crash of Qemu due to dereferencing a NULL pointer, as exhibited by NetBSD 5.1 installer on MIPS Magnum emulation.
