      Currently "rmmod hip04_eth.ko" call free_irq more than once
      as devres_release_all and hip04_remove both call free_irq.
      This results in a 'Trying to free already-free IRQ' warning.
      To solve the problem free_irq has been moved out of hip04_remove.

      net: hns: Fix the stray netpoll locks causing deadlock in NAPI path · 107451b8
      Salil Mehta 提交于
      [ Upstream commit bf5a6b4c474c589244dc25ee1af2c3c829228ef8 ]

      This patch fixes the problem of the spin locks, originally
      meant for the netpoll path of hns driver, causing deadlock in
      the normal NAPI poll path. The issue happened due to the presence
      of the stray leftover spin lock code related to the netpoll,
      whose support was earlier removed from the HNS[1], got activated
      due to enabling of NET_POLL_CONTROLLER switch.

      Earlier background:
      The netpoll handling code originally had this bug(as identified
      by Marc Zyngier[2]) of wrong spin lock API being used which did
      not disable the interrupts and hence could cause locking issues.
      i.e. if the lock were first acquired in context to thread like
      'ip' util and this lock if ever got later acquired again in
      context to the interrupt context like TX/RX (Interrupts could
      always pre-empt the lock holding task and acquire the lock again)
      and hence could cause deadlock.

      Proposed Solution:
      1. If the netpoll was enabled in the HNS driver, which is not
         right now, we could have simply used spin_[un]lock_irqsave()
      2. But as netpoll is disabled, therefore, it is best to get rid
         of the existing locks and stray code for now. This should
         solve the problem reported by Marc.

      On the arm64 platform, executing "ifconfig eth0 up" will fail,
      returning "ifconfig: SIOCSIFFLAGS: Input/output error."

      ndev->dev is not initialized, dma_map_single->get_dma_ops->
      dummy_dma_ops->__dummy_map_page will return DMA_ERROR_CODE
      directly, so when we use dma_map_single, the first parameter
      is to use the device of platform_device.

      [ Upstream commit f2243b82785942be519016067ee6c55a063bbfe2 ]

      TX_DESC_NUM is 256, in tx_count, the maximum value of
      mod(TX_DESC_NUM - 1) is 254, the variable "count" in
      the hip04_mac_start_xmit function is never equal to
      (TX_DESC_NUM - 1), so hip04_mac_start_xmit never
      return NETDEV_TX_BUSY.

      tx_count is modified to mod(TX_DESC_NUM) so that
      the maximum value of tx_count can reach
      (TX_DESC_NUM - 1), then hip04_mac_start_xmit can reurn
      NETDEV_TX_BUSY.

      ICMP6 neighbor solicitation messages will be discard by the Hip06
      chips, because of not setting forwarding pool. Enable promisc mode
      has the same problem.

      This patch fix the wrong forwarding table configs for the multicast
      vague matching when enable promisc mode, and add forwarding pool
      for the forwarding table.

      net: hns: Use NAPI_POLL_WEIGHT for hns driver · 7713ee69
      Yonglong Liu 提交于
      [ Upstream commit acb1ce15a61154aa501891d67ebf79bc9ea26818 ]

      When the HNS driver loaded, always have an error print:
      "netif_napi_add() called with weight 256"

      This is because the kernel checks the NAPI polling weights
      requested by drivers and it prints an error message if a driver
      requests a weight bigger than 64.

      So use NAPI_POLL_WEIGHT to fix it.

      net: hns: fix KASAN: use-after-free in hns_nic_net_xmit_hw() · 7e7befd8
      Liubin Shu 提交于
      [ Upstream commit 3a39a12ad364a9acd1038ba8da67cd8430f30de4 ]

      This patch is trying to fix the issue due to:
      [27237.844750] BUG: KASAN: use-after-free in hns_nic_net_xmit_hw+0x708/0xa18[hns_enet_drv]

      After hnae_queue_xmit() in hns_nic_net_xmit_hw(), can be
      interrupted by interruptions, and than call hns_nic_tx_poll_one()
      to handle the new packets, and free the skb. So, when turn back to
      hns_nic_net_xmit_hw(), calling skb->len will cause use-after-free.

      This patch update tx ring statistics in hns_nic_tx_poll_one() to
      fix the bug.

      [ Upstream commit 669efc76b317b3aa550ffbf0b79d064cb00a5f96 ]

      Currently, the rules for configuring search paths in Kbuild have
      changed, this will lead some erros when compiling hns3 with the
      following command:

      make O=DIR M=drivers/net/ethernet/hisilicon/hns3

      drivers/net/ethernet/hisilicon/hns3/hns3pf/hclge_cmd.c:11:10:
      fatal error: hnae3.h: No such file or directory

      This patch fix it by adding $(srctree)/ prefix to the serach paths.
