It might be not good to use software defined version to identify sdma device type, when hardware does not define such version. Instead, soc name is stable enough to define the device type. The patch uses platform_device_id rather than version number passed by platform data to identify sdma device type/version. The patch removes all the uses of cpu_is_mx1(). Instead, it uses the .id_table of platform_driver to distinguish the uart device type, IMX1_UART and IMX21_UART. The IMX21_UART type runs on all i.mx except i.mx1. A couple of !cpu_is_mx1 logic gets turned into is_imx21_uart, as the codes wrapped there are really IMX21 type uart specific. It also removes macro MX1_UCR3_REF25 and MX1_UCR3_REF30 which are not used anywhere. While it is a generic serial port in practice the i.MX SSI is only supported in Linux as an audio port (the i.MX has dedicated SPI controllers and so on). This means we don't need to disambiguate against other uses of the hardware and so can drop the -dai suffix from the driver name which fixes merge issues with the i.MX tree in -next. This patch extends the ASoC API to allow sound cards to have more than one CODEC and more than one platform DMA controller. This is achieved by dividing some current ASoC structures that contain both driver data and device data into structures that only either contain device data or driver data. i.e. struct snd_soc_codec ---> struct snd_soc_codec (device data) +-> struct snd_soc_codec_driver (driver data) struct snd_soc_platform ---> struct snd_soc_platform (device data) +-> struct snd_soc_platform_driver (driver data) struct snd_soc_dai ---> struct snd_soc_dai (device data) +-> struct snd_soc_dai_driver (driver data) struct snd_soc_device ---> deleted This now allows ASoC to be more tightly aligned with the Linux driver model and also means that every ASoC codec, platform and (platform) DAI is a kernel device. ASoC component private data is now stored as device private data. The ASoC sound card struct snd_soc_card has also been updated to store lists of it's components rather than a pointer to a codec and platform. The PCM runtime struct soc_pcm_runtime now has pointers to all its components. This patch adds DAPM support for ASoC multi-component and removes struct snd_soc_socdev from DAPM core. All DAPM calls are now made on a card, codec or runtime PCM level basis rather than using snd_soc_socdev. Other notable multi-component changes:- * Stream operations now de-reference less structures. * close_delayed work() now runs on a DAI basis rather than looping all DAIs in a card. * PM suspend()/resume() operations can now handle N CODECs and Platforms per sound card. * Added soc_bind_dai_link() to bind the component devices to the sound card. * Added soc_dai_link_probe() and soc_dai_link_remove() to probe and remove DAI link components. * sysfs entries can now be registered per component per card. * snd_soc_new_pcms() functionailty rolled into dai_link_probe(). * snd_soc_register_codec() now does all the codec list and mutex init. This patch changes the probe() and remove() of the CODEC drivers as follows:- o Make CODEC driver a platform driver o Moved all struct snd_soc_codec list, mutex, etc initialiasation to core. o Removed all static codec pointers (drivers now support > 1 codec dev) o snd_soc_register_pcms() now done by core. o snd_soc_register_dai() folded into snd_soc_register_codec(). The macro mx31_revision() used to take the global variable system_rev to determine the CPU revision number. However, this number is expected to be set by the bootloader and is usually zero (at least on my MX31 based boards here). More than that, it is usually taken to identify the board's revision, not the CPU's. Fix that by reading the the CPU's SREV register instead. Right now, mx31_read_cpu_rev() is called from mx31_clocks_init() which is admittedly not a good place for it. However, we need to enable the IIM clock first, and the clock code also has conditional code that depends on mx31_revision() returning the right thing. changes since v1: we now check if the parent configuration bit was changed since reset and change the parent when needed. csi_clk parent was defined with ahb_clk. However, according to the m31 reference manual, it should be serial_pll_clk. Guennadi always used a 20 MHz clock that was by chance changed to a 45 MHz that fits in the mt9t031 spec. With the i.MX31 transition to clkdev clock names have changed, but mistakenly the "mx3-camera.0" has been registered with a non-NULL connection ID, which is not necessary, since this is the only clock, used by the capture interface driver. Fix the clock definition and the driver to use NULL as a connection ID. We had hardcoded cpu_is_ macros for mxc architectures till now. As we want to run the same kernel on i.MX31 and i.MX35 this patch adds cpu_is_ macros which expand to 0 or 1 if only one architecture is compiled in and only check for the cpu type if more than one architecture is compiled in. We had 3 versions of this function in clock support for MX1/2/3 Use a single one instead. I picked the one from the MX3 as it seems to calculate more accurate as the other ones. Also, on MX27 and MX31 mfn can be negative, this hasn't been handled correctly on MX27 since now. This patch has been tested on MX27 and MX31 and produces the same clock frequencies for me.
