With sk_cookie we can identify a socket, that is very helpful for traceing and statistic, i.e. tcp tracepiont and ebpf. So we'd better init it by default for inet socket. Add support for DT property "microchip,led-modes", a vector of zero to four cells (u32s) in the range 0-15, each of which sets the mode for one of the LEDs. Some possible values are: 0=link/activity 1=link1000/activity 2=link100/activity 3=link10/activity 4=link100/1000/activity 5=link10/1000/activity 6=link10/100/activity 14=off 15=on These values are given symbolic constants in a dt-bindings header. Also use the presence of the DT property to indicate that the LEDs should be enabled - necessary in the event that no valid OTP or EEPROM is available. There may be a need for VF driver to request PF to explicitly update its bulletin with a MAC address. e.g. When user assigns a MAC address to VF while VF is still down, and PF's bulletin board contains different MAC address, in this case, when VF's interface is brought up, it gets loaded with MAC address from bulletin board which is not desirable. To handle this corner case, we need a new TLV to request PF to update its bulletin board with suggested MAC. This request will be honored only for trusted VFs. The GPIOs are described in device tree using a list, without names. Add defines to indicate what each index in the list means. This patch adds pretty print support to the basic arraymap. Support for other bpf maps can be added later. This patch adds new attrs to the BPF_MAP_CREATE command to allow specifying the btf_fd, btf_key_id and btf_value_id. The BPF_MAP_CREATE can then associate the btf to the map if the creating map supports BTF. A BTF supported map needs to implement two new map ops, map_seq_show_elem() and map_check_btf(). This patch has implemented these new map ops for the basic arraymap. It also adds file_operations, bpffs_map_fops, to the pinned map such that the pinned map can be opened and read. After that, the user has an intuitive way to do "cat bpffs/pathto/a-pinned-map" instead of getting an error. bpffs_map_fops should not be extended further to support other operations. Other operations (e.g. write/key-lookup...) should be realized by the userspace tools (e.g. bpftool) through the BPF_OBJ_GET_INFO_BY_FD, map's lookup/update interface...etc. Follow up patches will allow the userspace to obtain the BTF from a map-fd. This patch adds BPF_OBJ_GET_INFO_BY_FD support to BTF fd. The original BTF data, which was used to create the BTF fd during the earlier BPF_BTF_LOAD call, will be returned. The userspace is expected to allocate buffer to info.info and the buffer size is set to info.info_len before calling BPF_OBJ_GET_INFO_BY_FD. The original BTF data is copied to the userspace buffer (info.info). Only upto the user's specified info.info_len will be copied. The original BTF data size is set to info.info_len. The userspace needs to check if it is bigger than its allocated buffer size. If it is, the userspace should realloc with the kernel-returned info.info_len and call the BPF_OBJ_GET_INFO_BY_FD again. After collecting all btf_type in the first pass in an earlier patch, the second pass (in this patch) can validate the reference types (e.g. the referring type does exist and it does not refer to itself). While checking the reference type, it also gathers other information (e.g. the size of an array). This info will be useful in checking the struct's members in a later patch. After working on IP defragmentation lately, I found that some large packets defeat CHECKSUM_COMPLETE optimization because of NIC adding zero paddings on the last (small) fragment. While removing the padding with pskb_trim_rcsum(), we set skb->ip_summed to CHECKSUM_NONE, forcing a full csum validation, even if all prior fragments had CHECKSUM_COMPLETE set. Introduce a new delivered_ce stat in tcp socket to estimate number of packets being marked with CE bits. The estimation is done via ACKs with ECE bit. Depending on the actual receiver behavior, the estimation could have biases. Since the TCP sender can't really see the CE bit in the data path, so the sender is technically counting packets marked delivered with the "ECE / ECN-Echo" flag set. With RFC3168 ECN, because the ECE bit is sticky, this count can drastically overestimate the nummber of CE-marked data packets With DCTCP-style ECN this should be reasonably precise unless there is loss in the ACK path, in which case it's not precise. With AccECN proposal this can be made still more precise, even in the case some degree of ACK loss. However this is sender's best estimate of CE information. This patch provide APIs to allow client drivers to support probe deferral. On K2G SoC, devices can be probed only after the ti_sci_pm_domains driver is probed and ready. As drivers may get probed at different order, any driver that depends on knav dma and qmss drivers, for example netcp network driver, needs to defer probe until knav devices are probed and ready to service. Changing API ndo_xdp_xmit to take a struct xdp_frame instead of struct xdp_buff. This brings xdp_return_frame and ndp_xdp_xmit in sync. This builds towards changing the API further to become a bulk API, because xdp_buff is not a queue-able object while xdp_frame is. The tuntap driver invented it's own driver specific way of queuing XDP packets, by storing the xdp_buff information in the top of the XDP frame data. Convert it over to use the more generic xdp_frame structure. The main problem with the in-driver method is that the xdp_rxq_info pointer cannot be trused/used when dequeueing the frame. We might need to do some actions before the shadow variable is freed. For example, we might need to remove it from a list or free some data that it points to. This is already possible now. The user can get the shadow variable by klp_shadow_get(), do the necessary actions, and then call klp_shadow_free(). This patch allows to do it a more elegant way. The user could implement the needed actions in a callback that is passed to klp_shadow_free() as a parameter. The callback usually does reverse operations to the constructor callback that can be called by klp_shadow_*alloc(). It is especially useful for klp_shadow_free_all(). There we need to do these extra actions for each found shadow variable with the given ID. Note that the memory used by the shadow variable itself is still released later by rcu callback. It is needed to protect internal structures that keep all shadow variables. But the destructor is called immediately. The shadow variable must not be access anyway after klp_shadow_free() is called. The user is responsible to protect this any suitable way. Be aware that the destructor is called under klp_shadow_lock. It is the same as for the contructor in klp_shadow_alloc(). The existing API allows to pass a sample data to initialize the shadow data. It works well when the data are position independent. But it fails miserably when we need to set a pointer to the shadow structure itself. Unfortunately, we might need to initialize the pointer surprisingly often because of struct list_head. It is even worse because the list might be hidden in other common structures, for example, struct mutex, struct wait_queue_head. For example, this was needed to fix races in ALSA sequencer. It required to add mutex into struct snd_seq_client. See commit b3defb79 ("ALSA: seq: Make ioctls race-free") and commit d15d662e ("ALSA: seq: Fix racy pool initializations") This patch makes the API more safe. A custom constructor function and data are passed to klp_shadow_*alloc() functions instead of the sample data. Note that ctor_data are no longer a template for shadow->data. It might point to any data that might be necessary when the constructor is called. Also note that the constructor is called under klp_shadow_lock. It is an internal spin_lock that synchronizes alloc() vs. get() operations, see klp_shadow_get_or_alloc(). On one hand, this adds a risk of ABBA deadlocks. On the other hand, it allows to do some operations safely. For example, we could add the new structure into an existing list. This must be done only once when the structure is allocated. Applications might use SO_RCVLOWAT on TCP socket hoping to receive one [E]POLLIN event only when a given amount of bytes are ready in socket receive queue. Problem is that receive autotuning is not aware of this constraint, meaning sk_rcvbuf might be too small to allow all bytes to be stored. Add a new (struct proto_ops)->set_rcvlowat method so that a protocol can override the default setsockopt(SO_RCVLOWAT) behavior. syzbot is catching so many bugs triggered by commit 9ee332d9 ("sget(): handle failures of register_shrinker()"). That commit expected that calling kill_sb() from deactivate_locked_super() without successful fill_super() is safe, but the reality was different; some callers assign attributes which are needed for kill_sb() after sget() succeeds. For example, [1] is a report where sb->s_mode (which seems to be either FMODE_READ | FMODE_EXCL | FMODE_WRITE or FMODE_READ | FMODE_EXCL) is not assigned unless sget() succeeds. But it does not worth complicate sget() so that register_shrinker() failure path can safely call kill_block_super() via kill_sb(). Making alloc_super() fail if memory allocation for register_shrinker() failed is much simpler. Let's avoid calling deactivate_locked_super() from sget_userns() by preallocating memory for the shrinker and making register_shrinker() in sget_userns() never fail. The code to verify the new kernels sha digest is applicable for all architectures. Move it to common code. One problem is the string.c implementation on x86. Currently sha256 includes x86/boot/string.h which defines memcpy and memset to be gcc builtins. By moving the sha256 implementation to common code and changing the include to linux/string.h both functions are no longer defined. For s390 new kernels are loaded to fixed addresses in memory before they are booted. With the current code this is a problem as it assumes the kernel will be loaded to an 'arbitrary' address. In particular, kexec_locate_mem_hole searches for a large enough memory region and sets the load address (kexec_bufer->mem) to it. Luckily there is a simple workaround for this problem. By returning 1 in arch_kexec_walk_mem, kexec_locate_mem_hole is turned off. This allows the architecture to set kbuf->mem by hand. While the trick works fine for the kernel it does not for the purgatory as here the architectures don't have access to its kexec_buffer. Give architectures access to the purgatories kexec_buffer by changing kexec_load_purgatory to take a pointer to it. With this change architectures have access to the buffer and can edit it as they need. A nice side effect of this change is that we can get rid of the purgatory_info->purgatory_load_address field. As now the information stored there can directly be accessed from kbuf->mem. When the relocations are applied to the purgatory only the section the relocations are applied to is writable. The other sections, i.e. the symtab and .rel/.rela, are in read-only kexec_purgatory. Highlight this by marking the corresponding variables as 'const'. While at it also change the signatures of arch_kexec_apply_relocations* to take section pointers instead of just the index of the relocation section. This removes the second lookup and sanity check of the sections in arch code. The kexec_purgatory buffer is read-only. Thus all pointers into kexec_purgatory are read-only, too. Point this out by explicitly marking purgatory_info->ehdr as 'const' and update the comments in purgatory_info. Patch series "kexec_file: Clean up purgatory load", v2. Following the discussion with Dave and AKASHI, here are the common code patches extracted from my recent patch set (Add kexec_file_load support to s390) [1]. The patches were extracted to allow upstream integration together with AKASHI's common code patches before the arch code gets adjusted to the new base. The reason for this series is to prepare common code for adding kexec_file_load to s390 as well as cleaning up the mis-use of the sh_offset field during purgatory load. In detail this series contains: Patch #1&2: Minor cleanups/fixes. Patch #3-9: Clean up the purgatory load/relocation code. Especially remove the mis-use of the purgatory_info->sechdrs->sh_offset field, currently holding a pointer into either kexec_purgatory (ro) or purgatory_buf (rw) depending on the section. With these patches the section address will be calculated verbosely and sh_offset will contain the offset of the section in the stripped purgatory binary (purgatory_buf). Patch #10: Allows architectures to set the purgatory load address. This patch is important for s390 as the kernel and purgatory have to be loaded to fixed addresses. In current code this is impossible as the purgatory load is opaque to the architecture. Patch #11: Moves x86 purgatories sha implementation to common lib/ directory to allow reuse in other architectures.
