While testing kexec and kdump we hit problems where the new kernel would freeze or instantly reboot. The easiest way to trigger it was to kexec a kernel compiled for CONFIG_M586 on an athlon cpu. Compiling for CONFIG_MK7 instead would work fine. The patch fixes a few problems with the kexec inline asm. Signed-off-by: NChris Mason <mason@suse.com> Acked-by: N"Eric W. Use the standard hardware page table manipulation macros. This is possible now that linux works with all 4 levels of the page tables. Signed-off-by: NEric W. Biederman <ebiederm@xmission.com> Signed-off-by: NLinus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>

In an uncensored copy of code from i386 to x86_64 I wound up with inline assembly with the wrong constraints. Use input constraints instead of output constraints. So I know the assembler will do the right thing specify the size of the operand lidtq and lgdtq instead of just lidt and lgdt. Make load_segments use an input constraint, and delete the macro fun. Without having to reload %cs like I do on i386 this code is noticeably simpler. Signed-off-by: NEric W. Biederman <ebiederm@xmission.com> Signed-off-by: NLinus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>

o Following patch provides purely cosmetic changes and corrects CodingStyle guide lines related certain issues like below in kexec related files o braces for one line "if" statements, "for" loops, o more than 80 column wide lines, o No space after "while", "for" and "switch" key words o Changes: o take-2: Removed the extra tab before "case" key words. o take-3: Put operator at the end of line and space before "*/" Signed-off-by: NManeesh Soni <maneesh@in.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: NAndrew Morton <akpm@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: NLinus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>

This is the x86_64 implementation of machine kexec. 32bit compatibility support has been implemented, and machine_kexec has been enhanced to not care about the changing internal kernel paget table structures.
