This patch removes the depends on USB from all config symbols in drivers/usb/host/Kconfig and replace that with an if USB / endif block as suggested by Alan Stern. Some source ... Kconfig lines have been shuffled around to permit a better regroupment of the Kconfig files depending on "config USB" item. No functionnal change is introduced. "len" comes from the USB transfer and it's probably correct. The thing is that we already have similar checks like: if (data[i] >= serial->num_ports) { So adding a sanity test here matches the rest of the code and is a good idea. Johan's 'fix use-after-free in TIOCMIWAIT' patchset[1] introduces one bug which can cause kernel hang when opening port. This patch initialized the 'port->delta_msr_wait' waitqueue head to fix the bug which is introduced in 3.9-rc4.
