The mmio nvram driver (used by cell only atm) isn't properly parsing the device-tree, meaning that nvram isn't found correctly on the new Cell blades. It works ok for old blades where the nvram is at the root of the device tree but fails on Malta and CAB when it's hanging off axon. This fixes it by using the proper OF parsing functions. Now that get_property() returns a void *, there's no need to cast its return value. Also, treat the return value as const, so we can constify get_property later. powerpc core changes. Signed-off-by: NJeremy Kerr <jk@ozlabs.org> Signed-off-by: NPaul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>

locking init cleanups: - convert " = SPIN_LOCK_UNLOCKED" to spin_lock_init() or DEFINE_SPINLOCK() - convert rwlocks in a similar manner this patch was generated automatically. Motivation: - cleanliness - lockdep needs control of lock initialization, which the open-coded variants do not give - it's also useful for -rt and for lock debugging in general Signed-off-by: NIngo Molnar <mingo@elte.hu> Signed-off-by: NArjan van de Ven <arjan@linux.intel.com> Signed-off-by: NAndrew Morton <akpm@osdl.org> Signed-off-by: NLinus Torvalds <torvalds@osdl.org>

The nvram code formally known as bpa_nvram.c is rather generic really, so it is quite likely to be useful to future boards not based on cell. This patch puts it into arch/powerpc/sysdev. Signed-off-by: NArnd Bergmann <arndb@de.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: NPaul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>

The official name for BPA is now CBEA (Cell Broadband Engine Architecture). This patch renames all occurences of the term BPA to 'Cell' for easier recognition. Signed-off-by: NArnd Bergmann <arndb@de.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: NPaul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>

The firmware provides the location and size of the nvram in the device tree, so it does not really contain any hardware specific bits and could be used on other machines as well. Signed-off-by: NArnd Bergmann <arndb@de.ibm.com> Signed-off-by: NPaul Mackerras <paulus@samba.org>
