      hw: Clean up bogus default boot order · c1654732
      Markus Armbruster 提交于
      We set default boot order "cad" in every single machine definition
      except "pseries" and "moxiesim", even though very few boards actually
      care for boot order, and "cad" makes sense for even fewer.

      Machines that care:

      * pc and its variants

        Accept up to three letters 'a', 'b' (undocumented alias for 'a'),
        'c', 'd' and 'n'. Reject all others (fatal with -boot).

      * nseries (n800, n810)

        Check whether order starts with 'n'. Silently ignored otherwise.

      * prep, g3beige, mac99

        Extract the first character the machine understands (subset of
        'a'..'f').  Silently ignored otherwise.

      * spapr

        Accept an arbitrary string (vl.c restricts it to contain only
        'a'..'p', no duplicates).

      * sun4[mdc]

        Use the first character. Silently ignored otherwise.

      Strip characters these machines ignore from their default boot order.

      For all other machines, remove the unused default boot order
      alltogether.

      Note that my rename of QEMUMachine member boot_order to
      default_boot_order and QEMUMachineInitArgs member boot_device to
      boot_order has a welcome side effect: it makes every use of boot
      orders visible in this patch, for easy review.

      Rename target_phys_addr_t to hwaddr · a8170e5e
      Avi Kivity 提交于
      target_phys_addr_t is unwieldly, violates the C standard (_t suffixes are
      reserved) and its purpose doesn't match the name (most target_phys_addr_t
      addresses are not target specific). Replace it with a finger-friendly,
      standards conformant hwaddr.

      Outstanding patchsets can be fixed up with the command

        git rebase -i --exec 'find -name "*.[ch]"

      serial: split serial.c · 488cb996
      Gerd Hoffmann 提交于
      Split serial.c into serial.c, serial.h and serial-isa.c. While being at
      creating a serial.h header file move the serial prototypes from pc.h to
      the new serial.h. The latter leads to s/pc.h/serial.h/ in tons of
      boards which just want the serial bits from pc.h

      create struct for machine initialization arguments · 5f072e1f
      Eduardo Habkost 提交于
      This should help us to:
      - More easily add or remove machine initialization arguments without
        having to change every single machine init function;
      - More easily make mechanical changes involving the machine init
        functions in the future;
      - Let machine initialization forward the init arguments to other
        functions more easily.

      This change was half-mechanical process: first the struct was added with
      the local ram_size, boot_device, kernel_*, initrd_*, and cpu_model local
      variable initialization to all functions. Then the compiler helped me
      locate the local variables that are unused, so they could be removed.

      vmstate, memory: decouple vmstate from memory API · c5705a77
      Avi Kivity 提交于
      Currently creating a memory region automatically registers it for
      live migration. This differs from other state (which is enumerated
      in a VMStateDescription structure) and ties the live migration code
      into the memory core.

      Decouple the two by introducing a separate API, vmstate_register_ram(),
      for registering a RAM block for migration. Currently the same
      implementation is reused, but later it can be moved into a separate list,
      and registrations can be moved to VMStateDescription blocks.

      pflash_cfi01/pflash_cfi02: convert to memory API · cfe5f011
      Avi Kivity 提交于
      cfi02 is annoying in that is ignores some address bits; we probably
      want explicit support in the memory API for that.

      In order to get the correct opaque into the MemoryRegion object, the
      allocation scheme is changed so that the flash emulation code allocates
      memory, instead of the caller. This clears a FIXME in the flash code.

      PPC: move TLBs to their own arrays · 1c53accc
      Alexander Graf 提交于
      Until now, we've created a union over multiple different TLB types and
      allocated that union. While it's a waste of memory (and cache) to allocate
      TLB information for a TLB type with much information when you only need
      little, it also inflicts another issue.

      With the new KVM API, we can now share the TLB between KVM and qemu, but
      for that to work we need to have both be in the same layout. We can't just
      stretch it over to fit some internal different TLB representation.

      Hence this patch moves all TLB types to their own array, allowing us to only
      address and allocate exactly the boundaries required for the specific TLB
      type at hand.
