Similarly to the previous commit, rename .args files. The files were renamed using the following commands. From qemuxml2argvdata: for i in qemuxml2argv-*.args; do mv $i ${i#qemuxml2argv-}; done and then (to fix broken symlinks) from qemuxml2argvdata and qemuxml2xmloutdata: for i in $(find . -xtype l); do \ ln -sf $(readlink $i | sed 's/qemuxml2argv-//') $i; done Signed-off-by: NMichal Privoznik <mprivozn@redhat.com>

We can finally introduce a specific target model for the spapr-vty device used by pSeries guests, which means isa-serial will no longer show up to confuse users. We make sure migration works in both directions by interpreting the isa-serial target type, or the lack of target type, appropriately when parsing the guest XML, and skipping the newly-introduced type when formatting if for migration. We also verify that spapr-vty is not used for non-pSeries guests and add a bunch of test cases. This commit is best viewed with 'git show -w'. The capabilities used in test cases should match those used during normal operation for the tests to make any sense. This results in the generated command line for a few test cases (most notably non-x86 test cases that were wrongly assuming they could use -no-acpi) changing.

Per-domain directories were introduced in order to be able to completely separate security labels for each domain (commit f1f68ca3). However when the domain name is long (let's say a ridiculous 110 characters), we cannot connect to the monitor socket because on length of UNIX socket address is limited. In order to get around this, let's shorten it in similar fashion and in order to avoid conflicts, throw in an ID there as well. Also save that into the status XML and load the old status XMLs properly (to clean up after older domains). That way we can change it in the future. The shortening can be seen in qemuxml2argv tests, for example in the hugepages-pages2 case. Signed-off-by: NMartin Kletzander <mkletzan@redhat.com>

Back in commit bd6c46fa Author: Juerg Haefliger <juerg.haefliger@hp.com> Date: Mon Jan 31 06:42:57 2011 -0500 tests: handle backspace-newline pairs in test input files all the test argv files were line wrapped so that the args were less than 80 characters. The way the line wrapping was done turns out to be quite undesirable, because it often leaves multiple parameters on the same line. If we later need to add or remove individual parameters, then it leaves us having to redo line wrapping. This commit changes the line wrapping so that every single "-param value" is one its own new line. If the "value" is still too long, then we break on ',' or ':' or ' ' as needed. This means that when we come to add / remove parameters from the test files line, the patch diffs will only ever show a single line added/removed which will greatly simplify review work. For some machine types ppc64 machines now require that memory sizes are aligned to 256MiB increments (due to the dynamically reconfigurable memory). As now we treat existing configs reasonably in regards to migration, we can round all the sizes unconditionally. The only drawback will be that the memory size of a VM can potentially increase by (256MiB - 1byte) * number_of_NUMA_nodes. Resolves: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1249006

Right now when building the qemu command line, we try to do various unconditional validations of the guest CPU against the host CPU. However this checks are overly applied. The only time we should use the checks are: - The user requests host-model/host-passthrough, or - When KVM is requsted. CPU features requested in TCG mode are always emulated by qemu and are independent of the host CPU, so no host CPU checks should be performed. Right now if trying to specify a CPU for arm on an x86 host, it attempts to do non-sensical validation and falls over. Switch all the test cases that were intending to test CPU validation to use KVM, so they continue to test the intended code. Amend some aarch64 XML tests with a CPU model, to ensure things work correctly.

On my machine, a guest fails to boot if it has a sound card, but not graphical device/display is configured, because pulseaudio fails to initialize since it can't access $HOME. A workaround is removing the audio device, however on ARM boards there isn't any option to do that, so -nographic always fails. Set QEMU_AUDIO_DRV=none if no <graphics> are configured. Unfortunately this has massive test suite fallout. Add a qemu.conf parameter nographics_allow_host_audio, that if enabled will pass through QEMU_AUDIO_DRV from sysconfig (similar to vnc_allow_host_audio)

Long lines are harder to read and harder to diff; in fact, if lines get too long (> 1000 bytes), it starts causing issues where git send-email refuses to send patches for the file. I've cleaned up the tests directory in the past (see commits bd6c46fa, 3b750d13), but new long lines have been introduced in the meantime. Why 90 instead of 80? Because there were too many tests on the fringe edge, and I didn't want to edit that many files. Add a syntax check to prevent future long lines. * cfg.mk (sc_prohibit_long_lines): New rule. * tests/qemuxml2argvdata/qemuxml2argv-*.args: Split lines of any file with content longer than 90 columns. * tests/storagevolxml2argvdata/*.argv: Likewise. Add four tests of the XML -> argv handling for the PPC64 pseries machine. The first is just a basic test of a bare bones machine. The three others test various aspects of the spapr-vio address handling. It seems that currently we can't include network devices, doing so leads to a segfault because the network driverState is not initialised. Working around that leads us to the problem that the 'default' network doesn't exist. So for now just leave network devices out. Signed-off-by: NMichael Ellerman <michael@ellerman.id.au>
