The ioctl() entry points were empty except for handling SIOC_ETHTOOL but that has been obsoleted in favor of struct ethtool_ops. Cleaning up removing the ioctl() handlers. Moving the call to netif_start_queue() after brcmf_cfg80211_up() is completed successful. The bus-specific interface allowed a list of dongle commands to be provided to the common driver part. However, upcoming functionality requires a more dynamic behaviour. Hence the list is replaced by a new callback function so the bus-specific driver part can implement this behaviour. The common driver needs the packet overhead for the bus in order to reserve headroom for sk_buffs. For the SDIO driver this depends on firmware features so it is not possible to provide it in the brcmf_attach() call. When fw signalling is disabled tx is sent immediately. Using queues and worker thread allows usb to do synchronous autopm. This patch makes fws use queues and worker thread even if signalling is not supported by FW or not enabled. On bus flow control (no more host bus resources to send packets to device) the netif flow control was toggled, however credit management should also take this status into account. Since there are multiple sources handling this flow control necessary spinlocks were added to protect flow control related data/states. The only action that is allowed to fail in brcmf_fws_init() is setting the tlv in firmware as the feature is not supported on all devices. In brcmf_rx_frames() the call to brcmf_fweh_process_skb() could change the ifidx using information in the event data. This is only different to the BDC ifidx for IF ADD event. However, the creation of the new interface is deferred to event worker so it does not exist. After brcmf_fweh_process_skb() it is only used to set statistics. When firmware-signalling is active the brcmf_txcomplete() does a free of the sk_buff when transfer to firmware fails in the bus-specific driver code. However, it should also cleanup the packet from the hanger. This patch fixes that. The function brcmf_proto_hdrpush() increases the header space and fills in the protocol header fields. One field is the data offset which is currently fixed to zero meaning the data follows right after the header. The parameter is added to determine the actual start of data. This will be used for firmware signalling. The firmware and host can exchange signals which are carried within the data packets. These are TLV based signals that are inserted before the actual data, ie. ethernet frame. When adding a virtual interface cfg80211 already has taken the rtnl_lock. So when the netdevice is being registered the register_netdevice should be used instead of register_netdev. All interfaces for ifidx is 0 are created ahead and therefor double registrations for not only bssidx 0, but ifidx 0 should be ignored in brcfm_add_if. Add module variable with which a p2p0 netdev can be created. This netdev can be used by wpa-supplicant to configure and set up the p2p client/GO.
