Remove unnecessary kmalloc of temporary space to hold the md5 result; it's small enough to just put on the stack. This code may be called to process rpc's necessary to perform writes, so there's a potential deadlock whenever we kmalloc() here. After this a couple kmalloc()'s still remain, to be removed soon. This also fixes a rare double-free on error noticed by coverity. Signed-off-by: NJ. Bruce Fields <bfields@citi.umich.edu> Signed-off-by: NTrond Myklebust <Trond.Myklebust@netapp.com>

This fixes a bug whereby if two processes try to look up the same auth_gss credential, they may end up creating two creds, and triggering two upcalls because the upcall is performed before the credential is added to the credcache. Signed-off-by: NTrond Myklebust <Trond.Myklebust@netapp.com>

When we look up a new cred in the auth_gss downcall so that we can stuff the credcache, we do not want that lookup to queue up an upcall in order to initialise it. To do an upcall here not only redundant, but since we are already holding the inode->i_mutex, it will trigger a lock recursion. This patch allows rpcauth cache searches to indicate that they can cope with uninitialised credentials. Signed-off-by: NTrond Myklebust <Trond.Myklebust@netapp.com>

We require the server's gssd to create a completed context before asking the kernel to send a final context init reply. However, gssd could be buggy, or under some bizarre circumstances we might purge the context from our cache before we get the chance to use it here. Handle this case by returning GSS_S_NO_CONTEXT to the client. Also move the relevant code here to a separate function rather than nesting excessively. Signed-off-by: NJ. The code this was originally derived from processed wrap and mic tokens using the same functions. This required some contortions, and more would be required with the addition of xdr_buf's, so it's better to separate out the two code paths. Various xdr encode routines use au_rslack to guess where the reply argument will end up, so we can set up the xdr_buf to recieve data into the right place for zero copy. Currently we calculate the au_rslack estimate when we check the verifier. Normally this only depends on the verifier size. In the integrity case we add a few bytes to allow for a length and sequence number. It's a bit simpler to calculate only the verifier size when we check the verifier, and delay the full calculation till we unwrap. Signed-off-by: NJ. Currently rpc_mkdir/rpc_rmdir and rpc_mkpipe/mk_unlink have an API that's a little unfortunate. They take a path relative to the rpc_pipefs root and thus need to perform a full lookup. If you look at debugfs or usbfs they always store the dentry for directories they created and thus can pass in a dentry + single pathname component pair into their equivalents of the above functions. And in fact rpc_pipefs actually stores a dentry for all but one component so this change not only simplifies the core rpc_pipe code but also the callers. Unfortuntately this code path is only used by the NFS4 idmapper and AUTH_GSSAPI for which I don't have a test enviroment. Could someone give it a spin? It's the last bit needed before we can rework the lookup_hash API Signed-off-by: NChristoph Hellwig <hch@lst.de> Signed-off-by: NTrond Myklebust <Trond.Myklebust@netapp.com>

When registering an RPC cache, cache_register() always sets the owner as the sunrpc module. However, there are RPC caches owned by other modules. With the incorrect owner setting, the real owning module can be removed potentially with an open reference to the cache from userspace. For example, if one were to stop the nfs server and unmount the nfsd filesystem, the nfsd module could be removed eventhough rpc.idmapd had references to the idtoname and nametoid caches (i.e. /proc/net/rpc/nfs4.<cachename>/channel is still open). This resulted in a system panic on one of our machines when attempting to restart the nfs services after reloading the nfsd module. The following patch adds a 'struct module *owner' field in struct cache_detail. The owner is further assigned to the struct proc_dir_entry in cache_register() so that the module cannot be unloaded while user-space daemons have an open reference on the associated file under /proc. Since the patch to add a NULL short-circuit to crypto_free_tfm() went in, there's no longer any need for callers of that function to check for NULL. This patch removes the redundant NULL checks and also a few similar checks for NULL before calls to kfree() that I ran into while doing the crypto_free_tfm bits. I've succesfuly compile tested this patch, and a kernel with the patch applied boots and runs just fine. When I posted the patch to LKML (and other lists/people on Cc) it drew the following comments : J. Bruce Fields commented "I've no problem with the auth_gss or nfsv4 bits.--b." Sridhar Samudrala said "sctp change looks fine." Herbert Xu signed off on the patch. So, I guess this is ready to be dropped into -mm and eventually mainline. Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
