This patch adds a omap1510_fpga_init_irq() inline dummy implementations in arch/arm/mach-omap1/common.h. Without this patch,build system can lead to issues. Commit 16559ae4 (kgdb: remove #include <linux/serial_8250.h> from kgdb.h) had a side effect of breaking omap1_defconfig build as some headers were included indirectly: arch/arm/mach-omap1/board-h2.c:249: error: ‘INT_KEYBOARD’ undeclared here (not in a function) ... This worked earlier as linux/serial_8250.h included linux/serial_core.h, via linux/serial_8250.h from linux/kgdb.h. Fix this by including the necessary headers directly. Now that the only field in struct sys_timer is .init, delete the struct, and replace the machine descriptor .timer field with the initialization function itself. This will enable moving timer drivers into drivers/clocksource without having to place a public prototype of each struct sys_timer object into include/linux; the intent is to create a single of_clocksource_init() function that determines which timer driver to initialize by scanning the device dtree, much like the proposed irqchip_init() at: http://www.spinics.net/lists/arm-kernel/msg203686.html Includes mach-omap2 fixes from Igor Grinberg. Most of the prototypes in plat-omap/common.h are not common to omap1 and omap2+, they are local to omap2+ and should not be in plat-omap/common.h. The only shared function prototype in this file is omap_init_clocksource_32k(), let's put that into counter-32k.h. An older version of the patch "ARM: OMAP1: create read_reset_sources() function (for initial use by watchdog)" was sent upstream, which used the wrong return type for the omap1_get_reset_sources() function. On OMAP1, the existing OMAP watchdog driver reads a register directly from a non-watchdog IP block. It also does not convert the register's contents into the standard WDIOF_* bits expected from the GETBOOTSTATUS ioctl(). To move towards fixing these problems, create an function in arch/arm/mach-omap1 to return the reset source data. A subsequent patch will provide this function to the watchdog driver via platform_data. In the long term, the best approach would be to move this function to a new OMAP1 driver that handles access to the OMAP1 Clock Generation and Reset Management IP block. There's no need to keep the device related things in the common i2c.c as omap2+ is using hwmod. Split the code to mach-omap1 and mach-omap2 parts and only leave common code to plat-omap/i2c.c. There's no need to have this file in plat/fpga.h. We can make it local to plat-omap replacing fpga_read/write functions directly with readb/writeb as that's how they are already defined in fpga.h. Note that 2420 based H4 is also using the fpga, so let's keep the led support around in plat-omap until we flip over mach-omap2 to device tree. On OMAP1, omap_32k_timer_init() function always returns "true", irrespective of whether error occurred while initializing 32k sync counter as a kernel clocksource or not and execution will never fallback to mpu_timer clocksource init code. This patch adds check for return value from function omap_init_clocksource_32k(), and fallback to omap_mpu_timer_init() in case of failure/error from omap_init_clocksource_32k(). Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" git archive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about 3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the early git days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of good infrastructure for it. Let it rip!
