The bogus loop from compute_dbuf_slices() was copied into check_mbus_joined() as well. So this lookup is wrong as well. Fix it. Apparently I totally fumbled the loop condition when I removed the ARRAY_SIZE() stuff from the dbuf slice config lookup. Comparing the loop index with the active_pipes bitmask is utter nonsense, what we want to do is check to see if the mask is zero or not. Note that the code actually ended up working correctly despite the fumble, up until commit eef17395 ("drm/i915: Allow !join_mbus cases for adlp+ dbuf configuration") when things broke for real. On TGL/RKL the BIOS likes to use some kind of bogus DBUF layout that doesn't match what the spec recommends. With a single active pipe that is not going to be a problem, but with multiple pipes active skl_commit_modeset_enables() goes into an infinite loop since it can't figure out any order in which it can commit the pipes without causing DBUF overlaps between the planes. We'd need some kind of extra DBUF defrag stage in between to make the transition possible. But that is clearly way too complex a solution, so in the name of simplicity let's just sanitize the DBUF state by simply turning off all planes when we detect a pipe encroaching on its neighbours' DBUF slices. We only have to disable the primary planes as all other planes should have already been disabled (if they somehow were enabled) by earlier sanitization steps. And for good measure let's also sanitize in case the DBUF allocations of the pipes already seem to overlap each other. During readout we cannot assume the planes are actually using the slices they are supposed to use. The BIOS may have misprogrammed things and put the planes onto the wrong dbuf slices. So let's do the readout more carefully to make sure we really know which dbuf slices are actually in use by the pipe at the time. Reintroduce the !join_mbus single pipe cases for adlp+. Due to the mbus relative dbuf offsets in PLANE_BUF_CFG we need to know the actual slices used by the pipe when doing readout, even when mbus joining isn't enabled. Accurate readout will be needed to properly sanitize invalid BIOS dbuf configurations. This will also make it much easier to play around with the !join_mbus configs for testin/workaround purposes. Add display/intel_display_trace.[ch] for defining display tracepoints. The main goal is to reduce cross-includes between gem and display. It would be possible split up tracing even further, but that would lead to more boilerplate. We end up having to include intel_crtc.h in a few places because it was pulled in implicitly via intel_de.h -> i915_trace.h -> intel_crtc.h, and that's no longer the case. With both integrated and discrete Intel GPUs in a system, the current global check of intel_iommu_gfx_mapped, as done from intel_vtd_active() may not be completely accurate. In this patch we add i915 parameter to intel_vtd_active() in order to prepare it for multiple GPUs and we also change the check away from Intel specific intel_iommu_gfx_mapped (global exported by the Intel IOMMU driver) to probing the presence of IOMMU on a specific device using device_iommu_mapped(). This will return true both for IOMMU pass-through and address translation modes which matches the current behaviour. If in the future we wanted to distinguish between these two modes we could either use iommu_get_domain_for_dev() and check for __IOMMU_DOMAIN_PAGING bit indicating address translation, or ask for a new API to be exported from the IOMMU core code. v2: * Check for dmar translation specifically, not just iommu domain. To make this clearer to the compiler, use the '|=' operator to assign the result of each ilk_increase_wm_latency() call to changed, which keeps the meaning of the code the same but makes it obvious that every one of these calls is expected to happen. This moves one wrapper from the pm->display side, and creates wrappers for all the others, this should simplify things later. One thing to note is that the code checks the existence of some of these ptrs, so the wrappers are a bit complicated by that. The i845_update_wm code was always calling the i845 variant, and the i9xx_update_wm had only a choice between i830 and i9xx paths, hardly worth the vfunc overhead. The intention was to check whether the primary plane is enabled without any sprites planes being enabled. Instead we ended up checking whether just any one of the planes is enabled. g4x isn't vlv/chv and cxsr only works with the primary plane. Fix the check to examine the bitmask of active planes rather than the number of bits set in said bitmask. The memory latency values returned by pcode on DG2 are in units of "2 usec" rather than 1 usec on all other platforms. I.e., we need to double the value returned by pcode to obtain the true latency value. The bspec wording here was a bit ambiguous as to whether it wanted us to multiply or divide the pcode value by two, but we confirmed offline with the hardware team that we need to double the value the pcode gives us; this change is intended to support a larger range of potential latency values.
