      ARM: l2c: fix dependencies on PL310 errata symbols · a641f3a6
      Russell King 提交于
      A number of configurations spit out warnings similar to:

      warning: (SOC_IMX6 && SOC_VF610 && ARCH_OMAP4) selects PL310_ERRATA_588369 which has unmet direct dependencies (CACHE_L2X0)
      warning: (SOC_IMX6 && SOC_VF610 && ARCH_OMAP4) selects PL310_ERRATA_727915 which has unmet direct dependencies (CACHE_L2X0)

      Clean up the dependencies here:
      * PL310 symbols should only be selected when CACHE_L2X0 is enabled.
      * Since the cache-l2x0 code detects PL310 presence at runtime, and we will
        eventually get rid of CACHE_PL310, surround these errata options with an
        if CACHE_L2X0 conditional rather than repeating the dependency against
        each.

      ARM: ux500: always select ABX500_CORE · ccefeea9
      Arnd Bergmann 提交于
      We are probably selecting more drivers than we should in ux500,
      but cleaning up that logic for good can be left for another
      time. Most of these could be converted into silent options in
      the future, since they are always enabled on ux500 and never
      needed elsewhere.

      As a fixup for 3.10, let's at least select the dependencies for
      the other drivers we already select, to make it consistent.

      warning: (UX500_SOC_COMMON) selects AB8500_CORE which has unmet direct dependencies (HAS_IOMEM && GENERIC_HARDIRQS && ABX500_CORE && MFD_DB8500_PRCMU)

      ARM: plat-nomadik: move MTU, kill plat-nomadik · 694e33a7
      Linus Walleij 提交于
      This moves the MTU timer driver from arch/arm/plat-nomadik
      to drivers/clocksource and moves the header file to the
      platform_data directory.

      As this moves the last file being compiled to an object out
      of arch/arm/plat-nomadik, we have to "turn off the light"
      and delete the plat-nomadik directory, because it is not
      allowed to have an empty Makefile in a plat-* directory.
      This is probably also a desired side effect of depopulating
      the arch/arm directory of drivers. Luckily we have just
      deleted all the <plat/*> include files prior to this so
      by moving the last one we may delete the directory.

      After this all the Ux500 and Nomadik device drivers live
      outside of the arch/arm hierarchy.

      ARM: config: sort select statements alphanumerically · b1b3f49c
      Russell King 提交于
      As suggested by Andrew Morton:

        This is a pet peeve of mine. Any time there's a long list of items
        (header file inclusions, kconfig entries, array initalisers, etc) and
        someone wants to add a new item, they *always* go and stick it at the
        end of the list.

        Guys, don't do this. Either put the new item into a randomly-chosen
        position or, probably better, alphanumerically sort the list.

      lets sort all our select statements alphanumerically. This commit was
      created by the following perl:

      while (<>) {
      	while (/\\\s*$/) {
      		$_ .= <>;
      	}
      	undef %selects if /^\s*config\s+/;
      	if (/^\s+select\s+(\w+).*/) {
      		if (defined($selects{$1})) {
      			if ($selects{$1} eq $_) {
      				print STDERR "Warning: removing duplicated $1 entry\n";
      			} else {
      				print STDERR "Error: $1 differently selected\n".
      					"\tOld: $selects{$1}\n".
      					"\tNew: $_\n";
      				exit 1;
      			}
      		}
      		$selects{$1} = $_;
      		next;
      	}
      	if (%selects and (/^\s*$/ or /^\s+help/ or /^\s+---help---/ or
      			  /^endif/ or /^endchoice/)) {
      		foreach $k (sort (keys %selects)) {
      			print "$selects{$k}";
      		}
      		undef %selects;
      	}
      	print;
      }
      if (%selects) {
      	foreach $k (sort (keys %selects)) {
      		print "$selects{$k}";
      	}
      }

      It found two duplicates:

      Warning: removing duplicated S5P_SETUP_MIPIPHY entry
      Warning: removing duplicated HARDIRQS_SW_RESEND entry

      and they are identical duplicates, hence the shrinkage in the diffstat
      of two lines.

      We have four testers reporting success of this change (Tony, Stephen,
      Linus and Sekhar.)

      ARM: ux500: don't select LEDS_GPIO for snowball · db43b184
      Arnd Bergmann 提交于
      Using 'select' in Kconfig is hard, a platform cannot just
      enable a driver without also making sure that its subsystem
      is there. Also, there is no actual code dependency between
      the platform and the gpio leds driver.

      Without this patch, building without LEDS_CLASS esults in:

      drivers/built-in.o: In function `create_gpio_led.part.2':
      governor_userspace.c:(.devinit.text+0x5a58): undefined reference to `led_classdev_register'
      drivers/built-in.o: In function `gpio_led_remove':
      governor_userspace.c:(.devexit.text+0x6b8): undefined reference to `led_classdev_unregister'

      This reverts 8733f53c "ARM: ux500: Kconfig: Compile in leds-gpio
      support for Snowball" that introduced the regression and did not
      provide a helpful explanation.

      In order to leave the GPIO LED code still present in normal
      builds, this also enables the symbol in u8500_defconfig, in addition
      to the other LED drivers that are already selected there.

      pinctrl/nomadik: basic Nomadik pinctrl interface · e98ea774
      Linus Walleij 提交于
      This adds a scratch pin control interface to the Nomadik pinctrl
      driver, and defines the pins and groups in the DB8500 ASIC. We
      define GPIO ranges to cover the pins exposed. The DB8500 has
      more pins than this but we restrict the driver to the pins that
      can be controlled from the combined GPIO and pin control hardware
      to begin with.

      ChangeLog v1->v2:
      - Base on the latest pinctrl development from
        pinctrl-mergebase-20120418 so we can get rid of legacy
        group count mechanism. Also drop the range checks for group
        index, this is handled by the core now.

      ARM: ux500: delete U5500 support · 29746f48
      Linus Walleij 提交于
      This platform has been obsoleted and was only available inside of
      ST-Ericsson, no users of this code are left in the world. This
      deletes the core U5500 support entirely in the same manner as the
      obsoleted U8500 silicon was previously deleted.

      The cpu_is_u5500() macros that can read out the CPU ID is left
      until the next kernel cycle, this makes it possible to merge
      deletion of dependent drivers without breakage.

      This also has the upside of removing the mailbox driver which was
      our only driver that was outside the drivers/* hiearchy, now the
      machine directory only handles machines and nothing else.
