Last EBS status wasn't set to success in the initialization, which caused the first scan to be without EBS. Fix that. When EBS is not enabled by the driver, the FW still sends ebs_status success, which can override EBS failure state. Consider only EBS failures, to avoid such override. Last_ebs_success is set back to true upon disconnection. Last_ebs_success wasn't set in umac scan abort flow, fix that too. Different queue can have different behavior. While it can be unacceptable for a certain queue to be stuck for 2 seconds (e.g. the command queue), it can happen that another queue will stay stuck for even longer (a queue servicing a power saving client in GO). This watchdog allows to monitor the transmit queues. When a queue doesn't progress for a too long time, a timer fires and then, debug data can be collected. This watchdog has never been enabled on dvm controlled devices, so don't enable it there. In order to have it running on mvm controlled devices, we need to fix a small issue in the transport layer: mvm controlled devices use the shadow registers optimization. In this case, the watchdog wasn't running at all, even if enabled by the module parameter. Fix that on the way. When the FW is in error status - try to read the RXF and TXF (all of them) and add them to the dump data. iwl_mvm_fw_dbg_collect allows to collect debug data from the firmware. Most of the firmware interaction is done in non-sleepable context. It makes little sense to force the caller of iwl_mvm_fw_dbg_collect to sleep. Defer the actual collection to a worker so that this function will be able to be called from any context. A new TLV supplies the ADMA address for SDIO mode, allowing the driver to configure the default base address to be this (as given in the FW), rather than hardcoding the values to use until the FW sends the ALIVE message. Use the value given by the FW in the IWL_UCODE_TLV_SDIO_ADMA_ADDR TLV for setting the default SDTM base address until the FW sends the ALIVE message. If it isn't given in the FW - use the current hardcoded values. Maintain a TDLS channel-switch state and update it according to notifications from FW and timeouts. Explicitly check all state transitions are valid. When switching is initiated by mac80211, use a delayed work to periodically reschedule it from iwlwifi. Give the FW mac80211 generated TDLS channel-switch request/response templates. It will change appropriate values (switch timings) and Tx them at appropriate times. Enable the channel switch wiphy capability bit when the FW supports it. This API uses second CPU scan commands, and can support multiple simultaneous scans. Adding the new API, and adding new mechanisms to deal with up to 8 simultaneous scans instead of the old scan status. New scan API requires scan configuration for default scan parameters, adding it in _up flow. Also updating scan configuration after updating valid scan antennas via debugfs. Currently, the firmware only sends temperature notificaitions inside RX statistics notifications, which are tied to beacon filtering. This is a problem because beacon filtering is not used with vifs that don't receive beacons (e.g. P2P GO and AP), so the driver doesn't receive temperature notifications in those cases. To solve that, the firmware will be changed so that it sends DTS_MEASUREMENT_NOTIFICATIONs, independently from the beacon filtering flows. To support that, the driver needs to also handle unsolicited DTS_MEASUREMENT_NOTIFICATIONs, that are not triggered by DTS_TRIGGER_CMD_FLAGS_TEMP requests. This change is backwards compatible and will simply not be used with firmware versions that do not send the notifications. Other contexts might call iwl_mvm_ref_sync() right before we set IWL_MVM_STATUS_IN_D0I3, and then assume the fw/bus is not in d0i3 state. However, since we currently don't check for held references in the d0i3_enter flow, we might enter d0i3 although there is an active reference. Solve it by aborting the d0i3 enter flow if there is an active reference. Since users are assumed to use iwl_mvm_ref_sync, which takes a ref before checking the flag, we don't need further locking. If the RFkill interrupt fires while we calibrate, it would make the firmware fail and the driver wasn't able to recover. Change the flow so that the driver will kill the firmware in that case. Since we have now two flows that are calling trans_stop_device (the RFkill interrupt and the op_mode_mvm_start function) - we need to better sync this. Use the STATUS_DEVICE_ENABLED in the pcie transport in an atomic way to achieve this. iwlwifi features a debug mechanism that allows to dump binary data which is helpful to debug the firmware. Until now, this data was made available for the userspace through debugfs. For this exact purpose, devcoredump was created. Move to the new infrastructure. mvm->cur_ucode wasn't set before we actually load the firmware. This caused issues when we boot in RFKILL since we get an RFKILL interrupt upon boot even before we load any firmware. The LTR is the handshake between the device and the root complex about the latency allowed when the bus exits power save. This configuration was missing and this led to high latency in the link power up. The end user could experience high latency in the network because of this. The scheduler is a HW sub-block that directs the work of the Flow Handler by issuing requests for frame transfers, specifying source and destination. Its primary function is to allocate flows into the TX FIFOs based upon a pre-determined mapping. The driver has some responsibilities to the scheduler, namely initialising and maintaining the hardware registers. This is currently done by directly accessing them, which can cause races with the firmware also accessing the registers. To address this problem, change the driver to no longer directly access the registers but go through the firmware for this if the firmware has support for DQA and thus the new command. Reading the temperature directly from the hardware, without the help of the firmware, is a complex process and is not entirely the same for different hardware. Also, some NICs don't easily allow access to the sensors when the firmware is not running, which would add even more complexity to the code. To reduce the code complexity and to avoid code duplication between the firmware and the driver, boot the firmware briefly to read the current temperature while in CT kill mode.
