If the write protect pad of the controller is not connected to the write protect pin of the slot, the driver should be notified of this condition so that incorrect check for write protection by reading the WRTORT register can avoided. The get_ro platform callback can be used for in such cases, but with device tree support enabled, such platform callbacks cannot be supported. Add a new quirk for notifying the driver about the missing write protect line so the driver can assume that the card write protection is disabled. The 'struct dw_mci' maintains a copy of the pdev->dev instance instead of maintaining a reference to that 'struct device' instance. Any resource allocated using the device resource management kernel API with the instance of 'struct device' in 'struct dw_mci' is then incorrect. Enable eMMC background operations (BKOPS) feature. If URGENT_BKOPS is set after a response, note that BKOPS are required. Immediately run BKOPS if required. Read/write operations should be requested during BKOPS(LEVEL-1), then issue HPI to interrupt the ongoing BKOPS and service the foreground operation. (This patch only controls the LEVEL2/3.) When repeating the writing 1GB data, at a certain time, performance is decreased. At that time, card triggers the Level-3 or Level-2. After running bkops, performance is recovered. Future considerations: * Check BKOPS_LEVEL=1 and start BKOPS in a preventive manner. * Interrupt ongoing BKOPS before powering off the card. * How do we get BKOPS_STATUS value (periodically send ext_csd command)? * If using periodic bkops, also consider runtime_pm control. For several MoviNAND eMMC parts, there are known issues with secure erase and secure trim. For these specific MoviNAND devices, we skip these operations. Add a new flag of SDHCI_USING_RETUNING_TIMER to represent if the host is using a retuning timer for the card inserted. This flag is set when the host does tuning the first time for the card and the host's retuning mode is 1. This flag is used afterwards whenever needs to decide if the host is currently using a retuning timer. This flag is cleared when the card is removed in sdhci_reinit. The set/clear of the flag and the start/stop of the retuning timer is associated with the card's init/remove time, so there is no need to touch it when the host is to be removed as at that time the card should have already been removed. Currently only the capability_0 register can be set if SDHCI_QUIRK_MISSING_CAPS is defined. This is a problem when the capability_1 register also needs changing. Use the quirk SDHCI_QUIRK_MISSING_CAPS to allow both registers to be set. Redefining caps[1] is useful when the board design does not support 1.8v vccq so UHS modes are not available. The code that calls sdhci_add_host can then detect this condition and adjust the caps so the UHS mode will not be attempted on UHS cards. SDIO_CCCR_IF[1:0] in SDIO card is used for card data bus width setting as below: 00b: 1-bit bus 01b: Reserved 10b: 4-bit bus 11b: 8-bit bus (only for embedded SDIO) And sdio_enable_wide is for setting data bus width as 4-bit. But currently, it first reads the register, second OR' 1b with SDIO_CCCR_IF[1], and then writes it back. As we can see, this is based on such assumption that the SDIO_CCCR_IF[0] is always 0. Currently if a platform wants to implement a non-standard card-detection method, it would need to call tmio_mmc_cd_wakeup(), which is an inline function, calling mmc_detect_change().
