task #28557789 [ Upstream commit 8605cf0e852af3b2c771c18417499dc4ceed03d5 ] When dreq is allocated by nfs_direct_req_alloc(), dreq->kref is initialized to 2. Therefore we need to call nfs_direct_req_release() twice to release the allocated dreq. Usually it is called in nfs_file_direct_{read, write}() and nfs_direct_complete(). However, current code only calls nfs_direct_req_relese() once if nfs_get_lock_context() fails in nfs_file_direct_{read, write}(). So, that case would result in memory leak. Fix this by adding the missing call. task #28557789 [ Upstream commit 123c23c6a7b7ecd2a3d6060bea1d94019f71fd66 ] In _nfs42_proc_copy(), 'res->commit_res.verf' is allocated through kzalloc() if 'args->sync' is true. In the following code, if 'res->synchronous' is false, handle_async_copy() will be invoked. If an error occurs during the invocation, the following code will not be executed and the error will be returned . However, the allocated 'res->commit_res.verf' is not deallocated, leading to a memory leak. This is also true if the invocation of process_copy_commit() returns an error. To fix the above leaks, redirect the execution to the 'out' label if an error is encountered. commit 031d73ed768a40684f3ca21992265ffdb6a270bf upstream. When a series of O_DIRECT reads or writes are truncated, either due to eof or due to an error, then we should return the number of contiguous bytes that were received/sent starting at the offset specified by the application. Currently, we are failing to correctly check contiguity, and so we're failing the generic/465 in xfstests when the race between the read and write RPCs causes the file to get extended while the 2 reads are outstanding. If the first read RPC call wins the race and returns with eof set, we should treat the second read RPC as being truncated. [ Upstream commit 17d8c5d145000070c581f2a8aa01edc7998582ab ] Initialise the result count to 0 rather than initialising it to the argument count. The reason is that we want to ensure we record the I/O stats correctly in the case where an error is returned (for instance in the layoutstats). [ Upstream commit 9821421a291b548ef4369c6998745baa36ddecd5 ] If the file turns out to be of the wrong type after opening, we want to revalidate the path and retry, so return EOPENSTALE rather than ESTALE. [ Upstream commit 90cf500e338ab3f3c0f126ba37e36fb6a9058441 ] Currently, we are translating RPC level errors such as timeouts, as well as interrupts etc into EOPENSTALE, which forces a single replay of the open attempt. What we actually want to do is force the replay only in the cases where the returned error indicates that the file may have changed on the server. So the fix is to spell out the exact set of errors where we want to return EOPENSTALE. [ Upstream commit 5eb8d18ca0e001c6055da2b7f30d8f6dca23a44f ] Once we clear the NFS_DELEGATED_STATE flag, we're telling nfs_delegation_claim_opens() that we're done recovering all open state for that stateid, so we really need to ensure that we test for all open modes that are currently cached and recover them before exiting nfs4_open_delegation_recall(). [ Upstream commit dea1bb35c5f35e0577cfc61f79261d80b8715221 ] People are reporing seeing fscache errors being reported concerning duplicate cookies even in cases where they are not setting up fscache at all. The rule needs to be that if fscache is not enabled, then it should have no side effects at all. To ensure this is the case, we disable fscache completely on all superblocks for which the 'fsc' mount option was not set. In order to avoid issues with '-oremount', we also disable the ability to turn fscache on via remount. Fixes: f1fe29b4 ("NFS: Use i_writecount to control whether...")
