Add a struct irq_affinity pointer to the find_vqs methods, which if set is used to tell the PCI layer to create the MSI-X vectors for our I/O virtqueues with the proper affinity from the start. Compared to after the fact affinity hints this gives us an instantly working setup and allows to allocate the irq descritors node-local and avoid interconnect traffic. Last but not least this will allow blk-mq queues are created based on the interrupt affinity for storage drivers. As virtio-1 introduced the possibility of the device manipulating the status byte, revision 2 of the virtio-ccw transport introduced a means of getting the status byte from the device via READ_STATUS. Let's wire it up for revisions >= 2 and fall back to returning the stored status byte if not supported. The Kconfig currently controlling compilation of this code is: arch/s390/Kconfig:config S390_GUEST arch/s390/Kconfig: def_bool y ...meaning that it currently is not being built as a module by anyone. Lets remove the modular code that is essentially orphaned, so that when reading the driver there is no doubt it is builtin-only. Since module_init translates to device_initcall in the non-modular case, the init ordering remains unchanged with this commit. Also note that MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE is a no-op for non-modular code. We replace module.h with moduleparam.h since the file does declare some module_param() and leaving that as-is is currently the easiest way to remain compatible with existing boot arg use cases. There only ever have been two host implementations of the old s390-virtio (pre-ccw) transport: the experimental kuli userspace, and qemu. As qemu switched its default to ccw with 2.4 (with most users having used ccw well before that) and removed the old transport entirely in 2.6, s390-virtio probably hasn't been in active use for quite some time and is therefore likely to bitrot. Let's start the slow march towards removing the code by deprecating it. Note that this also deprecates the early virtio console code, which has been causing trouble in the guest without being wired up in any relevant hypervisor code. SET_IND takes as a payload the _address_ of the indicators, meaning that we have one of the rare cases where kmalloc(sizeof(&...)) is actually correct. Let's clarify that with a comment. The count for the ccw, however, was only correct because the indicators are 64 bit. Let's use the correct value. checkpatch.pl wants arrays of strings declared as follows: static const char * const names[] = { "vq-1", "vq-2", "vq-3" }; Currently the find_vqs() function takes a const char *names[] argument so passing checkpatch.pl's const char * const names[] results in a compiler error due to losing the second const. This patch adjusts the find_vqs() prototype and updates all virtio transports. This makes it possible for virtio_balloon.c, virtio_input.c, virtgpu_kms.c, and virtio_rpmsg_bus.c to use the checkpatch.pl-friendly type. The common I/O layer may pass an error value as the irb in the device's interrupt handler (for classic channel I/O). This won't happen in current virtio-ccw implementations, but it's better to be safe than sorry. Let's just return the error conveyed by the irb and clear any possible pending I/O indications.
