There is an asymmetry in ttusb_dec_init_usb()-ttusb_init_rc() and ttusb_dec_exit_usb()-ttusb_dec_exit_rc() in terms of resources allocated-deallocated. irq_urb and irq_buffer are allocated in ttusb_dec_init_usb(), while they are deallocated in ttusb_dec_exit_rc(). As a result there is a leak of them in ttusb_dec_probe(). The patch fixes the asymmetry and a leak on a failure path in ttusb_dec_init_usb(). By the way, it - removes usage of -1 as a custom error code, - replaces GFP_ATOMIC by GFP_KERNEL in usb_alloc_coherent() in ttusb_dec_init_usb() as soon as all other memory allocation done with GFP_KERNEL; - refactors ttusb_dec_boot_dsp() in an equivalent way except for returning 0 instead of 1 if ttusb_dec_boot_dsp() succeed in (!mode) branch. Found by Linux Driver Verification project (linuxtesting.org). [media] media: dvb-frontends: ts2020: Added in a option for frequency divider value for s600 devices When the tuner part of the ds3000 driver was split to share code with the m88rs2000 driver, the ts2020 driver used the frequency divider value from the m88rs2000 driver. However the ds3000 driver requires a different value, and this resulted in some frequecies being invisible to the tuner. This patch adds back in the value needed for the ds3000 driver and configured as an option in the dw2102 frontend driver. It may also apply to su3000 devices, which use the same ds3000 driver, but for now it is only applied to the s660 device. Reading firmware status register to detect whether firmware is running or not didn't work 100% reliably. That register was likely set by firmware itself which means it could not contain reasonable values until firmware is up and running. Usually it just worked as some garbage value was returned accidentally but it appears that in some cases returned garbage value was 0x00 which was considered "firmware is up and running" by the driver and firmware loading was skipped leaving device to non-working state. Fix problem by removing unreliable check and let the driver keep count whether firmware is loaded or not. Most DMA engines have limitations regarding the number of DMA segments (sg-buffers) that they can handle. Videobuffers can easily spread through hundreds of pages. In the previous aproach, the pages were allocated individually, this could led to the creation houndreds of dma segments (sg-buffers) that could not be handled by some DMA engines. This patch tries to minimize the number of DMA segments by using alloc_pages. Set the IIO device as the parent for the character device We need to make sure that the IIO device is not freed while the character device exists, otherwise the freeing of the IIO device might race against the file open callback. Do this by setting the character device's parent to the IIO device, this will cause the character device to grab a reference to the IIO device and only release it once the character device itself has been removed. Also move the registration of the character device before the registration of the IIO device to avoid the (rather theoretical case) that the IIO device is already freed again before we can add the character device and grab a reference to the IIO device. We also need to move the call to cdev_del() from iio_dev_release() to iio_device_unregister() (where it should have been in the first place anyway) to avoid a reference cycle. As iio_dev_release() is only called once all reference are dropped, but the character device holds a reference to the IIO device. On systems that support intel_pstate, acpi_cpufreq fails to load, and udev keeps trying until trace gets filled up and kernel crashes. The root cause is driver return ret from cpufreq_register_driver(), because when some other driver takes over before, it will return EBUSY and then udev will keep trying ... cpufreq_register_driver() should return EEXIST instead so that the system can boot without appending intel_pstate=disable and still use intel_pstate. Commit 448bd857 (PCI/PM: add PCIe runtime D3cold support) added a piece of code to pci_acpi_wake_dev() causing that function to behave in a special way for devices in D3cold (so that their configuration registers are not accessed before those devices are resumed). However, it didn't take the clearing of the pme_poll flag into account. That has to be done for all devices, even if they are in D3cold, or pci_pme_list_scan() will not know that wakeup has been signaled for the device and will poll its PME Status bit unnecessarily. Fix the problem by moving the clearing of the pme_poll flag in pci_acpi_wake_dev() before the code introduced by commit 448bd857. Reported-and-tested-by: NDavid E. This bug was introduced by commit 7a163bfb ("netconsole: avoid a crash with multiple sysfs writers"). In store_enabled() we have the following sequence: acquire nt->mutex then rtnl, but in the netconsole netdev notifier we have rtnl then nt->mutex effectively leading to a deadlock. The NULL pointer dereference that the above commit tries to fix is actually due to another bug in netpoll_cleanup(). If local fragmentation is allowed, then ip_select_ident() and ip_select_ident_more() need to generate unique IDs to ensure correct defragmentation on the peer. For example, if IPsec (tunnel mode) has to encrypt large skbs that have local_df bit set, then all IP fragments that belonged to different ESP datagrams would have used the same identificator. If one of these IP fragments would get lost or reordered, then peer could possibly stitch together wrong IP fragments that did not belong to the same datagram. Without this patch, if a frontend cycles through states Closing and Closed (which Windows frontends need to do) then the netdev will be destroyed and requires re-invocation of hotplug scripts to restore state before the frontend can move to Connected. Thus when udev is not in use the backend gets stuck in InitWait. With this patch, the netdev is left alone whilst the backend is still online and is only de-registered and freed just prior to destroying the vif (which is also nicely symmetrical with the netdev allocation and registration being done during probe) so no re-invocation of hotplug scripts is required. So we have a decent change of blowing up everything. But since reworking this ties in with funny concepts like the fbdev notifier chain or the impressive things which happen around console_lock while oopsing, I'll leave that as an exercise for braver souls than me. Commit cdc58d60 "cpufreq: imx6q-cpufreq: remove device tree parsing for cpu nodes" assumed the pdev->dev is set to cpu0 device in the platform code. But it actually points to the virtual cpufreq-cpu0 platform device which is not present in the device tree. Most of the information needed by cpufreq is stored in cpu0 DT node. So cpu_dev must point to cpu0 device. This patch fixes the wrong assignment to cpu_dev. But it actually points to the virtual cpufreq-cpu0 platform device which is not present in the device tree. Most of the information needed by cpufreq is stored in cpu0 DT node. So cpu_dev must point to cpu0 device. This patch fixes the wrong assignment to cpu_dev.
