If the SHMLBA definition for a native task differs from the definition for a compat task, the do_shmat() function would need to handle both. This patch introduces COMPAT_SHMLBA, which is used by the compat shmat syscall when calling the ipc code and allows architectures such as AArch64 (where the native SHMLBA is 64k but the compat (AArch32) definition is 16k) to provide the correct semantics for compat IPC system calls. Commits d065bd81 ("mm: retry page fault when blocking on disk transfer") and 37b23e05 ("x86,mm: make pagefault killable") introduced changes into the x86 pagefault handler for making the page fault handler retryable as well as killable. xtensa has a header (in its include/asm directory) that is a thin wrapper around asm-generic/rmap.h. This wrapper is useless, since that header doesn't exist. It is also unused (no file includes asm/rmap.h). openrisc generates a similar header at build time (using a generic-y entry in include/asm/Kbuild). This generated header is useless and unused too. Does block_sigmask() + tracehook_signal_handler(); called when sigframe has been successfully built. All architectures converted to it; block_sigmask() itself is gone now (merged into this one). I'm still not too happy with the signature, but that's a separate story (IMO we need a structure that would contain signal number + siginfo + k_sigaction, so that get_signal_to_deliver() would fill one, signal_delivered(), handle_signal() and probably setup...frame() - take one). It gets rid of: - the net/tr.c which the drivers depended on - the drivers/net component - the Kbuild infrastructure around it - any tokenring related CONFIG_ settings in any defconfigs - the tokenring headers in the include/linux dir - the firmware associated with the tokenring drivers. - any associated token ring documentation. Rather than requiring architectures that use gpiolib but don't have any need to define anything custom to copy an asm/gpio.h provide a Kconfig symbol which architectures must select in order to include gpio.h and for other architectures just provide the trivial implementation directly. This makes it much easier to do gpiolib updates and is also a step towards making gpiolib APIs available on every architecture. For architectures with existing boilerplate code leave a stub header in place which warns on direct inclusion of asm/gpio.h and includes linux/gpio.h to catch code that's doing this. Direct inclusion of asm/gpio.h has long been deprecated. Commit e520c410 "xtensa: convert to asm-generic/hardirq.h" converted over to using the asm-generic parts, but it also added the sentinel #define ack_bad_irq ack_bad_irq which tells asm-generic to _not_ use the common ack_bad_irq. Since e520c410 deleted the duplicated code from the arch specific file, we _do_ want the asm-generic one in scope. So delete the trigger define above which hides it. In doing so we'll realize that we've got to delete the almost-duplicate prototype as well to avoid "static declaration ... follows non-static".
