Broadcom MIPS-based STB chips endianness is configured by boot strap, which also reverses all bus endianness (i.e., big-endian CPU + big endian bus ==> native endian I/O). Other architectures (e.g., ARM) either do not support big endian, or else leave I/O in little endian mode. Commit 097d88e9 ("gpio: xilinx: use gpiochip data pointer") replaces the use of container_of() with gpiochip_get_data(). Unfortunately, the data pointer is not yet set by the time xgpio_save_regs() is called, causing a system hang.
