This patch enables tx and rx clock internal delay modes (TDM and RDM). This is to address a failure in the case of 1Gbps communication using the by salvator-x board with the KSZ9031RNX phy. This has been reported to occur with both the r8a7795 (H3) and r8a7796 (M3-W) SoCs. With this change APSR internal delay modes are enabled for "rgmii-id", "rgmii-rxid" and "rgmii-txid" phy modes as follows: phy mode | ASPR delay mode -----------+---------------- rgmii-id | TDM and RDM rgmii-rxid | RDM rgmii-txid | TDM Signed-off-by: NKazuya Mizuguchi <kazuya.mizuguchi.ks@renesas.com> Signed-off-by: NSimon Horman <horms+renesas@verge.net.au> Acked-by: NSergei Shtylyov <sergei.shtylyov@cogentembedded.com> Signed-off-by: NDavid S. "swiotlb buffer is full" errors occur after repeated initialisation of a device - f.e. suspend/resume or ip link set up/down. This is because memory mapped using dma_map_single() in ravb_ring_format() and ravb_start_xmit() is not released. Resolve this problem by unmapping descriptors when freeing rings. Due to alignment requirements of the hardware transmissions are split into two DMA descriptors, a small padding descriptor of 0 - 3 bytes in length followed by a descriptor for rest of the packet. In the case of IP packets the first descriptor will never be zero due to the way that the stack aligns buffers for IP packets. However, for non-IP packets it may be zero. In that case it has been reported that timeouts occur, presumably because transmission stops at the first zero-length DMA descriptor and thus the packet is not transmitted. However, in my environment a BUG is triggered as follows: [ 20.381417] ------------[ cut here ]------------ [ 20.386054] kernel BUG at lib/swiotlb.c:495! With centralized MTU checking, there's nothing productive done by eth_change_mtu that isn't already done in dev_set_mtu, so mark it as deprecated and remove all usage of it in the kernel. All callers have been audited for calls to alloc_etherdev* or ether_setup directly, which means they all have a valid dev->min_mtu and dev->max_mtu. Now eth_change_mtu prints out a netdev_warn about being deprecated, for the benefit of out-of-tree drivers that might be utilizing it. Of note, dvb_net.c actually had dev->mtu = 4096, while using eth_change_mtu, meaning that if you ever tried changing it's mtu, you couldn't set it above 1500 anymore. It's now getting dev->max_mtu also set to 4096 to remedy that. v2: fix up lantiq_etop, missed breakage due to drive not compiling on x86 CC: netdev@vger.kernel.org Signed-off-by: NJarod Wilson <jarod@redhat.com> Signed-off-by: NDavid S. When CONFIG_PM_SLEEP is disabled, we get a couple of harmless warnings: drivers/net/ethernet/renesas/ravb_main.c:2117:12: error: 'ravb_resume' defined but not used [-Werror=unused-function] drivers/net/ethernet/renesas/ravb_main.c:2104:12: error: 'ravb_suspend' defined but not used [-Werror=unused-function] The simplest solution here is to replace the #ifdef with __maybe_unused annotations, which lets the compiler do the right thing by itself. The interface would not function after the system had been woken up after have been suspended (echo mem > /sys/power/state) cycle. The reason for this is that all device registers have been reset to its default values. This patch adds sleep suspend and resume functions that detached the interface at suspend and restore the registers and reattach the interface at resume. Only the registers that are only configured at probe time needs to be explicitly restored by the resume handler. All other registers are reconfigured by either reopening the device in the resume handler (if the device was running when the system was suspended) or when the interface is opened by a user at a later time. The H/W manual recommends B'10 or B'11 in a value of the separation filtering select bits in the receive configuration register (RCR.ESF). This patch supports the following interrupts. - One interrupt for multiple (timestamp, error, gPTP) - One interrupt for emac - Four interrupts for dma queue (best effort rx/tx, network control rx/tx) This patch improve efficiency of the interrupt handler by adding the interrupt handler corresponding to each interrupt source described above. Additionally, it reduces the number of times of the access to EthernetAVB IF. Also this patch prevent this driver depends on the whim of a boot loader.
