Userspace can flood the kernel with interrupts as of now, so let's limit the number of pending floating interrupts injected via either the floating interrupt controller or the KVM_S390_INTERRUPT ioctl. We can have up to 4*64k pending subchannels + 8 adapter interrupts, as well as up to ASYNC_PF_PER_VCPU*KVM_MAX_VCPUS pfault done interrupts. There are also sclp and machine checks. This gives us (4*65536+8+64*64+1+1) = 266250 interrupts. Switch to memblock interfaces for early memory allocator instead of bootmem allocator. No functional change in beahvior than what it is in current code from bootmem users points of view. Archs already converted to NO_BOOTMEM now directly use memblock interfaces instead of bootmem wrappers build on top of memblock. Introduce memblock memory allocation APIs which allow to support PAE or LPAE extension on 32 bits archs where the physical memory start address can be beyond 4GB. In such cases, existing bootmem APIs which operate on 32 bit addresses won't work and needs memblock layer which operates on 64 bit addresses. So we add equivalent APIs so that we can replace usage of bootmem with memblock interfaces. Architectures already converted to NO_BOOTMEM use these new memblock interfaces. The architectures which are still not converted to NO_BOOTMEM continue to function as is because we still maintain the fal lback option of bootmem back-end supporting these new interfaces. So no functional change as such. In long run, once all the architectures moves to NO_BOOTMEM, we can get rid of bootmem layer completely. This is one step to remove the core code dependency with bootmem and also gives path for architectures to move away from bootmem. The proposed interface will became active if both CONFIG_HAVE_MEMBLOCK and CONFIG_NO_BOOTMEM are specified by arch. In case !CONFIG_NO_BOOTMEM, the memblock() wrappers will fallback to the existing bootmem apis so that arch's not converted to NO_BOOTMEM continue to work as is. The meaning of MEMBLOCK_ALLOC_ACCESSIBLE and MEMBLOCK_ALLOC_ANYWHERE is kept same. The memblock current limit value is used to limit early boot memory allocations below max low memory address by default, as the kernel can access only to the low memory. Commit 4b59e6c4 ("mm, show_mem: suppress page counts in non-blockable contexts") introduced SHOW_MEM_FILTER_PAGE_COUNT to suppress PFN walks on large memory machines. Commit c78e9363 ("mm: do not walk all of system memory during show_mem") avoided a PFN walk in the generic show_mem helper which removes the requirement for SHOW_MEM_FILTER_PAGE_COUNT in that case. This patch removes PFN walkers from the arch-specific implementations that report on a per-node or per-zone granularity. ARM and unicore32 still do a PFN walk as they report memory usage on each bank which is a much finer granularity where the debugging information may still be of use. As the remaining arches doing PFN walks have relatively small amounts of memory, this patch simply removes SHOW_MEM_FILTER_PAGE_COUNT. otherwise we will get for some user-space applications that use 'clone' with CLONE_CHILD_SETTID | CLONE_CHILD_CLEARTID end up hitting an assert in glibc manifested by: general protection ip:7f80720d364c sp:7fff98fd8a80 error:0 in libc-2.13.so[7f807209e000+180000] This is due to the nature of said operations which sets and clears the PID. "In the successful one I can see that the page table of the parent process has been updated successfully to use a different physical page, so the write of the tid on that page only affects the child... On the other hand, in the failed case, the write seems to happen before the copy of the original page is done, so both the parent and the child end up with the same value (because the parent copies the page after the write of the child tid has already happened)." (Roger's analysis). The nature of this is due to the Xen's commit of 51e2cac257ec8b4080d89f0855c498cbbd76a5e5 "x86/pvh: set only minimal cr0 and cr4 flags in order to use paging" the CR0_WP was removed so COW features of the Linux kernel were not operating properly. While doing that also update the rest of the CR0 flags to be inline with what a baremetal Linux kernel would set them to. In 'secondary_startup_64' (baremetal Linux) sets: X86_CR0_PE | X86_CR0_MP | X86_CR0_ET | X86_CR0_NE | X86_CR0_WP | X86_CR0_AM | X86_CR0_PG The hypervisor for HVM type guests (which PVH is a bit) sets: X86_CR0_PE | X86_CR0_ET | X86_CR0_TS For PVH it specifically sets: X86_CR0_PG Which means we need to set the rest: X86_CR0_MP | X86_CR0_NE | X86_CR0_WP | X86_CR0_AM to have full parity. Depending on the regulator version, the voltage table might be different. Use version specific regulator tables in order to select correct voltage table. For the following regulator versions different voltage tables are now used: * TPS658623: Use correct voltage table for SM2 * TPS658643: New voltage table for SM2 Both versions are in use on the Colibri T20 module. Make use of the correct tables by requesting the correct SM2 voltage of 1.8V. This change is not backward compatible since an old driver is not able to correctly set that value. The value 1.8V is out of range for the old driver and will refuse to probe the device. The regulator starts with default settings and the driver shows appropriate error messages. On Colibri T20, the old value used to work with TPS658623 since the driver applied a wrong voltage table too. However, the TPS658643 used on V1.2 devices uses yet another voltage table and those broke that pseudo-compatibility. Seems that commit 210b1607 (KVM: s390: Removed SIE_INTERCEPT_UCONTROL) lost a hunk when we reworked our patch queue to rework the async_fp code. We now ignore faults on the sie instruction (guest accesses non-existing memory) instead of sending a fault into the guest. This leads to hang situations with the old virtio transport that checks for descriptor memory after guest memory. Instead of bailing out this code now goes wild... Lets re-add the check. The s390 bpf jit compiler emits the signed divide instructions "dr" and "d" for unsigned divisions. This can cause problems: the dividend will be zero extended to a 64 bit value and the divisor is the 32 bit signed value as specified A or X accumulator, even though A and X are supposed to be treated as unsigned values. The divide instrunctions will generate an exception if the result cannot be expressed with a 32 bit signed value. This is the case if e.g. the dividend is 0xffffffff and the divisor either 1 or also 0xffffffff (signed: -1). To avoid all these issues simply use unsigned divide instructions. This patch enables transactional execution for KVM guests on s390 systems zec12 or later. We rework the allocation of the page containing the sie_block to also back the Interception Transaction Diagnostic Block. If available the TE facilities will be enabled. Setting bit 73 and 50 in vfacilities bitmask reveals the HW facilities Transactional Memory and Constraint Transactional Memory respectively to the KVM guest. Furthermore, the patch restores the Program-Interruption TDB from the Interception TDB in case a program interception has occurred and the ITDB has a valid format. When userspace sets MSR_IA32_FEATURE_CONTROL to 0, make sure we leave root and non-root mode, fully disabling VMX. The register state of the VCPU is undefined after this step, so userspace has to set it to a proper state afterward. This enables to reboot a VM while it is running some hypervisor code. According to the SDM, only bits 0-3 of DR6 "may" be cleared by "certain" debug exception. So do update them on #DB exception in KVM, but leave the rest alone, only setting BD and BS in addition to already set bits in DR6. This also aligns us with kvm_vcpu_check_singlestep. In contrast to VMX, SVM dose not automatically transfer DR6 into the VCPU's arch.dr6. So if we face a DR6 read, we must consult a new vendor hook to obtain the current value. And as SVM now picks the DR6 state from its VMCB, we also need a set callback in order to write updates of DR6 back. Fixes a regression of 020df079.
