MXC needs the same change as IOP. See [ARM] 4494/1 or commit 7dea1b20 An undefined reference to elf_hwcap prevents linkage, due to changes made by f884b1cf and d1cbbd6b Removing processor.h removes the extern definition of elf_hwcap, which fixes the link issue, but forgets cpu_relax(). So, instead, we'll call barrier() directly. The recent 9p commit: bd238fb4 that supposedly only moved files also introduced a new 9p sysctl interface that did not properly register it's sysctl binary numbers. And since it was only for debugging clearly did not need a binary fast path in any case. So this patch just remove the binary numbers. See Documentation/sysctl/ctl_unnumbered.txt for more details. While I was at it I cleaned up the sysctl initializers a little as well so there is less to read. Due to index register access ordering problems, when using macros a line like this fails (and does nothing): setCx86(CX86_CCR2, getCx86(CX86_CCR2) | 0x88); With inlined functions this line will work as expected. Note about a side effect: Seems on Geode GX1 based systems the "suspend on halt power saving feature" was never enabled due to this wrong macro expansion. With inlined functions it will be enabled, but this will stop the TSC when the CPU runs into a HLT instruction. Kernel output something like this: Clocksource tsc unstable (delta = -472746897 ns) This is the 3rd version of this patch. - Adding missed arch/i386/kernel/cpu/mtrr/state.c Thanks to Andres Salomon - Adding some big fat comments into the new header file Suggested by Andi Kleen AK: fixed x86-64 compilation Signed-off-by: NJuergen Beisert <juergen@kreuzholzen.de> Signed-off-by: NAndi Kleen <ak@suse.de> Signed-off-by: NLinus Torvalds <torvalds@linux-foundation.org>
