ixgbe: cleanup code in ixgbe_identify_sfp_module_generic

This change cleans up several issues in ixgbe_identify_sfp_module_generic
including whitespace, redundant code, I2C EEPROM reads without exception
handling, and an if/elseif/else without braces.
