Merge branch 'mm/config-pathname-tilde-expand'

* mm/config-pathname-tilde-expand:
  Documentation: avoid xmlto input error
  expand_user_path: expand ~ to $HOME, not to the actual homedir.
  Expand ~ and ~user in core.excludesfile, commit.template
